Purple attacks have different status modifiers dependent on the element of the Pokemon. There are ten types of status modifiers: Poison, Noxious, Paralysis, Burn, Confusion, Sleep, Frozen, Wait, Curse Marker, MP -1 Market.
The poison status reduces 20 damage of pokemon, while noxious reduces 40 damage.
Paralysis forces an attack with the smallest piece on the spinning wheel to miss. Burn status has the same effect for paralyze, however, burn reduces 10 damage of the affected pokemon
Confusion forces the affected pokemon to take the next move clockwise on what is chosen by the spinning wheel.
Sleep condition immobilizes a pokemon in the game. However, the pokemon can wake up when another pokemon touches it or an awakening plate is used.
Like sleep, frozen also immobilizes the pokemon and it makes all the attacks to miss. Frozen status can only be reverted when the pokemon is out of the game.
Wait status does not allow the pokemon to take any actions until the waiting turn ends.
The pokemon marked with a curse cannot go back to the game when it is knocked out. It can only be reverted when the cursed pokemon gets another status.
MP – 1 marker slows the mobility of the pokemon. It deducts the number of spots it can move in the field. This status can only be removed when the pokemon is out of battle or when the switch plate is used.
Generally, all of these status effects can be cure when a pokemon is knocked out and brought to be Pokemon center. There are only two pokemons that can be acommodated in the Pokemon Center. After it is healed, it will go to the bench until it is ready to be dispatched to the field.
On the last part of this series, I will be talking about other features in the game.
