A new rare card – the Battle Ram – is out in Clash Royale a few hours ago and they introduced it to be mobile game through the tournament. I’ve joined the tournament and I will be writing my thoughts about it.
The Battle Ram was first shown online through a sneak peak in YouTube by Supercell’s Chief Pat. The video was uploaded last December 13, 2016. Two months later, it was officially released, however, it is only limited to those who win the battle ram tournament five times or more.
Winning the tournament for five times without losing three times is not an easy task to do. To be honest, I have not unlocked the battle ram yet. Perhaps, I just have to wait after seven days after the tournament is over.
The battle ram is unit can be normally obtained in the Builder’s Workshop (Arena 6) as a rare card. It consumes four elixir. It is a ground unit that targets buildings. Like the prince and dark prince it charges towards the target. This charge can be interrupted through a zap, electro wizard attack, and the log. When the battle ram reaches the target of its hits points ran out, two barbarian emerges (just like a golem and lava hound exploding into minions).
As of balancing, the battle ram is pretty weak with electro wizard. I see a lot of players using this card to anti a battle ram attack. Other weaknesses are the tornado, executioner, ice wizard, and all kinds of building cards. A cannon or a tombstone can effective block any attack from this card.
Making the right combination for the battle ram is a daunting task. That explains the difficulty on winning at least fives times in the tournament. As of my deck, I used the royal giant, lumberjack, princess, electro wizard, fireball, executioner, and tornado to be paired to the battle ram. It was a failure.
Probably, we will see more effective combinations in the future.
