During the campaign period, Trump blatantly expressed his unfavorable stance towards immigrants in the United States. This has become a major issue in the country and surprisingly won many support among the electoral college. However, things wont go in the way Trump expects it to be.
Trump’s executive order issuing an immigration ban throughout the United States sprouted protest all over the country including technology firms taking the lead. Tech giants such Expedia, Microsoft, and Amazon has expressed the same sentiments of the said measure.
President Donald Trump’s executive order involves banning immigration and refugee entries from seven Muslim-majority countries. Those coming from Syria even suffer the worst case.
The battle against the controversial executive order is spearheaded by Washington state. Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson is backed up by tech companies in a legal battle with a lawsuit declaring that Trump’s executive order in unconstitutional and unethical.
Both Expedia and Amazon believes that Trump’s order has serious harmful impacts to their business. They are preparing bold statements against the measure and on the same time supporting the government of Washington. Microsoft will also do the same since they are based on Washington.
Facebook, led by Mark Zuckerberg has also vented out against the measure, but did not fight any legal proceeding as of the moment.
Google already staged protest against Trump’s immigration ban as more than 2000 of their employees by walking out and posting videos. The activity is organized by employees and supported by Google.
