Only a few people living the in Visayas and Mindanao regions in the Philippines knows that there is actually an option to change the language used in Facebook to Bisaya. English is the default language and here are the necessary steps anybody can take to change Facebook into the Cebuano tongue.
Let the photos guide you.
Click on the options on the upper-right concern of the Facebook screen. (Location of this option varies on the smartphone platform). Then, click on the settings tab.
Click on language option on the left portion on the screen. Then click on “edit” under “What language do you want to use Facebook in?”
Select “Bisaya” on the dropdown.
Bisaya is still not complete as a language in all of the database in Facebook. So, it is better to leave in into English. Then click “Save Changes”.
If you see this screen below, Congratulations! You have changed your Facebook language to Bisaya.
When you are at this level, your Facebook will use Bisaya in different platforms, although changes in iOS and Android version comes late.
Facebook is also updating their language database over time. If there are new things in Facebook, most likely the language offered is in English. Changes to Bisaya will come later.
If you are a native Bisaya speaker, I guarantee that you will enjoy your Facebook experience is better. Plus, you will learn more about your own culture. It may be awkward at first, then you will get used to it and be proud that you can speak Cebuano.
