Want to have a trip in Japan? Be sure you have downloaded Google Lens already.
Google Word Lens is a very useful smartphone app that allows users to translate foreign text. It comes in handy when you are travelling. However, if the text does not use the familiar alphabetical characters, things get more convenient.
On January 26, 2017 Google confirmed that Google Word Lens now supports Japanese. Anyone can now get a translation of Japanese kanji characters by just pointing the camera on the text. Translations are provided live even without internet connection.
It also goes vice versa. A Japanese can travel to other countries with ease, e.g. English can be directly translated to Japanese.
The app is supported by Google Translate.
