Excited to get a unit of iPhone 6s and 6s plus? While waiting for the big shebang of Apple this coming fall, here is a sneak peak of one of the features of the anticipated products.
Craig Federighi, a prime Apple developer, showed clever iPhone feature during his demonstration in San Francisco. He calls is the “emergency selfie” that will be available for both iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus.
He literally took selfies of himself on the stage to show the new features. It is quite awkward to see someone so successful to perform a weird stunt.
“Sometimes you need to take that emergency selfie, and you want to get directly to the selfie camera. Well, now you can!” – Craig Federighi
The new iPhones 6s and iPhone 6s plus can be pre-ordered as of the moment with a deferred waiting time of two weeks to be available on the shops. That is the only way so far to enjoy the “emergency selfie” feature.
As an opinion note, I was expecting for the emergency selfie feature to be something of greater use. However, it turns out that this is just another vanity stint. Whoever needs this emergency selfie thingy must be narcissistic individual. Like seriously, did we ever ask for our phone to take a photo even we haven’t pressed it?
When I saw the word “emergency” on this feature, I was anticipating a mechanism that would safeguard smartphone users. I was thinking that the phone will automatically take a selfie shot to someone who maliciously but failed to unlock the phone. The selfie of the thief or robber will be automatically uploaded to Apple drive or whatever Cloud system iOS offers.
No offense to Apple fans, but this emergency selfie, probably is one of the overpriced useless features. But, first, let me take a selfie.
