Three spells here has a new innovation: the poison spell, the earthquake spell and the frost spell.
Every since the poison spell was introduced during the Summer 2015 update, it changed the practices of defending troops in the clan castle during wars. Units such as barbarians, archers, wizards, witches, and other low hit point warriors are no longer an option as the gate watchers. Most of the monsters guarding the clan castles now are dragons, lava hounds, and balloons.
Now, Supercell made a slight innovation of the poison spell. The damage rate of the poison spell is slow from the beginning of the deployment. Damage increases as time goes by. Two poison spells thrown on the top of each other also increases the rate of the damage. However, it is not recommended to cast poison spell to heroes; it only takes insignificant damage.
Aside from taking damage, the poison spell now can decrease the attack rate of depending troops inside the clan castle.
Slight changes of the damage taken by earthquake spells were once based on percentage. The maximum upgrade takes about 25% which means that 4 earthquake spells can destroy any building. To solve that concern, Supercell changed the mechanics by decreasing the percentage damage of the earthquake spell when deployed on the same spot.
But don’t worry, 4 earthquake spells can still destroy any wall. Plus, it only takes 2 lightning spells and an earthquake spell to destroy an air defense.
Just a minor innovation, frost spells can now freeze air troops lurking inside the enemy’s clan castle.
