Last night, ABS CBN’s top rating weekend show, The Voice Kids Season 2, revealed its Top 4 contenders: Esang de Torres, Reynan Dal-Anay, Sassa Dagdag, and Elha Nympha. The artists under the tutelage of Team Sarah, unfortunately, did not make it to the grand finals. Rest assured, the voices of Kyle Echarri and Zephanie Dimaranan are heard.
With all the different opinions heard online, people keep on bashing each of the contestants and their coaches. Since the result of the Sing-offs, Sarah Geronimo and her raw artist Kyle were on hot water on social media. Words such as “undeserving” or “only good at looks” surfaced online. Even the ever loyal fans of Sarah G, the Popsters, were divided among themselves because they would rather see Francis on the Live Shows.
Team Sarah has been stereotyped as holding the strongest text votes after winning 2 consecutive seasons — first with Lyca and second with Jason Dy. However now, it appears that Popsters lost their power.
A controversy of a possible sabotage appeared online. This is due to a network failure of voting via text votes. I for one voted for an artist in Team Sarah. I tried to do it 6 times but I did not receive a single confirmation message that my vote was counted. After 2 hours, a confirmation message came saying:
“The Voice: The Voice Kids 2 voting is closed. P0.50/text. Call (02)4158766 for help.”
My vote has never counted. I thought I was the only one. When I checked Twitter, several other netizens suffered the same ordeal. There are some who were confused of voting Zephanine for the keyword “Voice Zeph”. But most were not able to vote at all. Here are some of the tweets of those who complained:
They replied that the voting line is now closed. However, I texted 2366 when the line was still open. #TVK2Semis

Seriously, calling a common hotline for a thousands of potential voters is the solution? ABS CBN can do better than that.
The reality is that not everyone who wanted to vote were able to vote. This network failure is a very delicate issue. Who knows, the result could be different. If there is no news about this, people will continue to make conspiracy theories of a possible sabotage.
