The Voice Kids of the Philippines Season 2 not only brought us amazing voices on television. It also generated so much reactions from social media.
Last August 9, 2015, when the Sing-off stage of Team Lea was shown in television, Coach Lea Salonga chose Esang and Reynan to proceed to the Live Shows. The decision did not make that much ruckus because most of the online population agrees with the Broadway diva that those kids were deserving — although a few commentators in YouTube feels some lost opportunity for promising contenders like Julianne and Luke. For them, Reynan is weak in clarity and diction.
After a week, Team Bamboo and Team Sarah were off on the stage. Coach Bamboo Manalac certainly had a hard time to decide which among his kids should proceed to the next level. He chose Sassa and Elha. There is not much reaction to Sassa for most of the netizens anticipated it already. For Elha though, more people reacted bashing her as having “no appeal”. They would rather like to see the more popular young heartthrobs like Altair and Benedict. In fairness, some people admits that Elha nailed the “Natutulog ba ang Diyos” performance.
The online backslash against Reynan and Elha are nothing compared to Kyle. Coach Sarah Geromino chose Zephanie and Kyle. The former gave a very unpredictable performance for effortlessly singing the high notes of Ariana Grande’s “Problem”. For the latter though, his “Just The Way You Are” number did not make that much appeal to the people online. Most of them feels that Francis deserves more the spot. A few though defended Kyle’s integrity stating that Sarah G sees something in him — a raw talent unique to his voice.
After all, up until the Sing-offs stage, only the judges have the final say of who can proceed to the next level. The audience does not even know these contestants personally. So it is by the same logic that Lea Salonga reacted in her Twitter account:
I don't understand why you're bashing and bullying the kids that got into Live Shows, and the coaches that got them there. Stop. Just stop.

Whatever the judges’ decision are, it should be respected. They are the professionals of the show and we should trust their decision. So, set aside you biases and prejudices.
Nevertheless, the online crowd is always unforgiving.
