Who doesn’t need resources in this game? Gold, elixir, and dark elixir (DE) are like fuels to this game. Gold is used to upgrade/build the defenses, TH, Clan Castle (CC), walls, traps, elixir collectors and elixir storage. Elixir are used to train troops and create spells. It is also used to upgrade your army camps, barracks, research, laboratory, spell factory, dark barracks, DE collector, gold collectors and storage. Once you’ll reach TH 9, elixir can be an alternative in upgrading walls. In addition, Elixir is also used to eradicate obstacles on the field which may bring you some gems. Lastly, DE is used to train and research for DE troops, as well as it is used to build/upgrade heroes.
Buildings get more freaking expensive as you move up to another TH. That’s why you need to farm from time to time to sustain your base’s needs. To farm means to loot. So, you need to train the least expensive troops you have: Barbarians, Archers, and Goblins. A couple of Giants and Wall Breakers can help in penetrating the enemy base. As much as possible, set a standard of the amount of loot to you need to acquire and make it sure it will replenish the amount of elixir cost from the troops.
Make it sure that your troops are stronger than your enemy base to assure the amount of loots and earn some trophies on the same time. Of your are lucky enough, you might spot a dead base which have massive amounts of lots from its collectors.
One more thing, if you aim to fill your storage, it is advisable to build a farming base. Don’t worry to lose cups when somebody attacks you. Some players just go for TH hunting. They will just destroy your TH and leave the resources. That will give your base free protection for 12 hours while you are busy doing something else or sleeping.
I know not everybody can afford focused looting because of time constraints our busy schedules. The best thing to do for an inactive player is to upgrade the collectors ahead.
