Solving an annoying OpenOffice “window popup” problem for Mac

I encountered a strange problem when I opened my application suite in my Macintosh the other day. An annoying popup does not seem to go away it says: “The last time you opened, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again. If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the windows yourself.”

The button actions offered are “Don’t Reopen” and “Reopen”. No matter which button the popup does not disappear.

I even tried to reinstall OpenOffice but the problem persist. One good thing from out of this though, I got to install the latest version of OpenOffice.

I scoured the web for a solution, and luckily I found one, so here it is and I am sharing it to you.

1.) Go to “Finder”

2.) Click on “Go” and click on “Go to folder”

3.) When the popup box appears type ” ~/Library/Saved Application State”

4.) Find the folder  “org.openoffice.script.savedState” and delete it.

5.) Open the OpenOffice application again and viola ! Popup is gone ! Problem solved  🙂
