Unboxing Video Globe Tattoo SuperStick 4G Huawei E586Es-2
As a blogger, the need to be constantly online is a must. I may not be making any posts but I make sure that I am able to read for that day. A fast reliable mobile internet connection is a must nowadays. I have had so many bad experiences with free WiFi connections here in the Philippines. Notably was the frustrating free internet connection through WiFi at the Mactan International Airport and…did I already say frustrating? There were so many people using the connection I could not get through. Thankfully, Smart had set up a booth at the airport and was offering free internet. Before they used to have PC’s but eventually opted on using iPads. Since every unit had it’s own 3.5G connection, it was fast and stable.
So my friend decided to get me one of those Mobile WiFi, the Globe Tattoo SuperStick, Huawei E586Es-2. It is a 4G USB Wifi Modem capable of speeds up to 21 Mbps once connected with a HSPA+ network and can connect up to 5 devices through WiFi or you can also have a sixth device connected through USB. This device is can be had through Globe Tattoo Personalized Plan. Just add 150 to the monthly base plan of Php. 999.00. The device comes with a base speed of 7.2 Mbps. By simply adding to your base plan, you can have your account accommodate up to 21 Mbps. Fortunately, I live in the province and the fastest connection I can have here is only HSDPA. Please refer to the the picture to below to for more information about Globe Tattoo Personalized Plan.
According to Huawei’s website the E586Es-2′s features are the following:
Feature
•Able to connect with Tablet, Laptop, notebook and different types of Wi-Fi devices
•Support up to 5 Wi-Fi enable devices at the same time
•One-touch connection and OLED screen display
•Friendly user interface
•5 hours working and 280 hours stand-by by battery (while Wi-Fi is off) *
*Depending on the state of network and environmentProduct Spec
•Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
•HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS (3G) EDGE/GPRS/GSM(2G)
•HSPA+ data service up to 21.6 Mbps
•HSUPA data service up to 5.76 Mbps
•Equalizer and receive diversity
•microSD Card Slot(Up to 32GB)
•Data and SMS Service
So why did I chose Globe over Smart, well because I was particularly pleased with the connection in the past, as long as I have a pretty decent signal. I will however give my full review and thoughts on my this device in my next previous post. As for now simply watch the unboxing video below. This is my first so please be understanding and I was using a HTC Evo 4G to video this unboxing, thus the quality looks so crappy.

Hi there, I’m really interested in this product specially in the 21 mbps promised speed. I am planning to change my current internet connection because it is so slow (0.2mbps PLDT Php990). But my mother subscribed to the PLDT PLUS Php250, and the contract will end on January 7, 2013. I really want to terminate our contract but because of the another Php250 contract we cannot terminate, we can only terminate the DSL connection and we will still be paying Php850 monthly. If we will terminate all our contract we will be paying Php2500 for the Php250 contract plus our current charge Php1249, all in all Php3749. I’m choosing between the Globe Tattoo Superstick 21mbps (Php1349) or the Globe DSL 2mbps with free landline(Php1299). I just want to know how fast is the speed you are getting so that I could choose between the two. I am living in Caloocan, Grace Park and I’ve heard that there are active 4G sites here. Thanks Guys.
If i were to choose between a DSL or a wireless broadband I would still choose DSL as it is more stable and more responsive. Well, currently I am having speeds of between to 1.5 Mbps to 5.5 Mbps on regular HSDPA. I have yet to get test it on a 4G network. Again speeds really vary according to number of users, place and the capacity of the base station to handle the speeds. The advantage about this Globe Tattoo SuperStick is I get to bring it anywhere.
