List of Non-Compatible Apps for Nokia Belle Released
Yesterday, Noka fans have been very happy about the release Nokia Belle. It has been months and months since it has been announced and earlier Symbian^3 users welcome this change. Nokia casually calls this update as “Same Phone, New Experience” in its video about the update. It has already been well documented around the blogsphere that Belle works really well on previous Symbian^3 phones despite it being unofficial. One thing to notice with the unofficial releases was that there was quite a few murmurs of app incompatibility and those who dared flash their phone with the unofficial release were even very happy with Belle.
While blog surfing today and reading comments around concerning the update, you would readily feel a general satisfaction among N8 users. Albeit being late, the change was indeed welcome.
However, there seems to be some concern in Nokia’s part as it released a list of apps that might be incompatible with the update. Apps that was seen as incompatible included games such as Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, Galaxy on Fire, Hero of Sparta, Glow Air Hocky, business apps, utility apps and more. Nokia and many of its users are very excited about this update (finally) and the announcement of possible apps non-compatibility will surely dampen those excitement for those who have been waiting for quite sometime. However, those who have already updated to Nokia Belle commented on Nokia’s Facebook Page that most of the apps listed above worked fine. If this is true, Nokia has posted an unnecessary warning for its users and could also mean that they are uncertain as to how the current apps, which were coded for earlier Symbian^3 and Anna would behave in the current update.
If you are still have doubts whether to update or not, I suggest you wait for a while. See whether or not other users have been experiencing app non-compatible issues. If you are an app heavy user then try reading around forums or in blogs that are tackling the issue before deciding. If this is all just false alarm, then you might as well go for the update.
