To be specific, only six percent of teenager, who had a regular phone feel that way, but with teenagers having smartphones, the number quickly rose to 80% . Smartphones such, IPhones, Androids and BBs are some the famous smartphones used by teenagers nowadays to communicate with their friends, browse the internet and update their statuses in social networking sites , such as Facebook and Twitter. Thus, it came as no surprise that confiscation of their smartphones has become the most chosen form of punishment.
Aside from smartphones, topping the list of prize gadgets are laptops, game consoles and MP3 players.
Years ago, teenagers were punished by going to bed early, sent to bed without eating or told to stay inside the house the house. This dramatic shift of the method of imposing punishment to misbehaving teenagers shows what was prized before compared to what is prized now. Before it was freedom to roam around, play with friends, enjoy sweets or stay up late. Today teenagers find gadgets more appealing because technology has allowed them to be entertained without having to socialize or to socialize without having to see or meet the other person.
