Facebook Phone Code Named “Buffy” on the Works at HTC? The Slaying Begins!

Buffy and Facebook?

Not stopping with over 80 million users world wide, Facebook is planning to bring more connectivity options to its millions of users through its very own Facebook phone. Incharge of realizing this goal will be one of the top Android OEM brands, HTC.

Facebook phone, code named Buffy (Yeah, the vampire slayer.), will be running Google’s Android, albeit a heavily modified one. Probable modifications will be largely centered at tweaks that will bring users to desktop browser experience. Facebook apps will now be sreved via html 5 support allowing users to play games they would normally play on a standard desktop browser. Of course, this also means that apps developers need not release a standalone ap for mobiles.

Yet “Buffy” is still a rumor and both HTC and Facebook refuse to comment. However, this what the Facebook spokesperson said about the rumor,

“Our mobile strategy is simple: we think every mobile device is better if it is deeply social. We’re working across the entire mobile industry; with operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers to bring powerful social experiences to more people around the world.”
