You may have read this status from your friends in Facebook or you yourself have posted the following status in your wall.

ATTENTION : THE HACKERS HAVE ALREADY ENTERED FACEBOOK AND THEY ARE PUTTING SEXUAL VIDEOS FROM YOUR NAME TO THE WALLS OF YOUR FRIENDS WITHOUT YOU KNOWING IT! YOU DON’T SEE IT, BUT OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE IT AS IF IT WERE A PUBLICATION THAT YOU MADE! SO IF YOU RECEIVE SOMETHING ABOUT A VIDEO, IT’S NOT MINE! Copy this onto your wall, it’s for THE SECURITY OF YOUR OWN IMAGE.

According to BBC, thousands of the 800 million Facebook users around the world have been complaining about their hacked accounts and that hackers have been spamming nude and offensive images in their wall without their knowledge.

According to news:

Facebook said the spam attack worked via a “self-XSS vulnerability in the browser”.
It added: “During this attack, users were tricked into pasting and executing malicious javascript in their browser URL bar causing them to unknowingly share this offensive content.

It also states that Facebook’s engineer are at work to build

enforcement mechanisms to shut down malicious pages and accounts that attempt to exploit the vulnerability.

To protect yourself from this malicious spam attack make sure to:

• Never copy and paste unknown code into the address bar
• Always use an up-to-date browser
• Use the report links on Facebook to flag suspicious behaviour or content on friends’ accounts

Aside from that, should you feel that your account has been hacked, you could also place this message in your wall to protect your integrity
