If you are a blogger, you know by now that keeping your audience happy is the way to go to succeed as a blogger and make money. But how do you know what your readers want? Is there a way to read into your reader’s mind and find out what he or she wants? Read on to know more.
Your Readers Want Informative Entertainment
Why do people visit blogs? To know something they don’t know already. What else are they looking for? To be entertained while obtaining a valuable bit of information. Try the following tips:
- Infuse your blogs with a personal sense of humor
- Understand your reader is a person and give your post a 1:1 approach.
- Research your information thoroughly and as much as possible, provide references and links
- Always post a comment at the end that if someone doesn’t agree with your thoughts, you’d love to hear what they think and learn from them. This will earn you respect and many backlinks.
Your Readers Want Respect And Consideration
Why do some readers return to some blogs and visit some blogs only once? What do they need and what is it that they don’t find? Your readers need respected as people and they need to know that you respect their knowledge. Don’t talk down to your readers or come across as a superior know-it-all. Make your blog personal, and come across as a considerate, respectful person. Stay away from using smart-sounding lingo and don’t boast about your accomplishments.
Your Readers Want Appreciation
Show interest in what your readers have accomplished via comments, emails and follow up. Appreciate the time they’ve spent on your blog, and appreciate the fact that they bothered to drop a comment. Everyone’s busy these days and no one needs to bother with anyone else. So when someone does take interest in what you have to say, handle that interest as you would handle a precious gift.
So if you earn a negative comment, write back to that person and thank them for the time they spent on your site. Ask that reader what he or she would like to read in the future. You will succeed much more if you do this.
Your Readers Want To Be Rewarded For Their Loyalty
If someone is loyal to your blog, it’s only because they like what they read and see and also because they appreciate you. However, given the number of blogs in each niche, hanging on to your reader’s loyalty is a dicey bargain. Readers expect a bit from you in return for their loyalty. Hand out freebies and goodies such as eBooks, plugins, and discount on your products to loyal readers and so on.
Respond To Your Readers’ Issues
If a reader posts a doubt or a question to you, take it as an opportunity to build a relationship with that reader. Don’t just give a casual answer, pointing to some random resource for help. Take a personal interest and offer informative comments, do a bit of research, share your results and show that you care. This shows your personal commitment and also lets your reader know that you consider him or her as your friend.
